Aura Aspen Bilderrahmen im Test: tolles Bild, aber Cloud-Zwang

Test of the Aura Aspen digital picture frame with an 11.8-inch display (1600 x 1200 pixels, about 169 ppi) and a matte surface. Measured power draw with the display running was 6.8 watts. Free, unlimited cloud storage without a subscription, easy photo transfer and the option for family to add pictures remotely stand out. Criticisms are the complete dependence on the Aura online service, no USB or SD port, only a single daily operating window and no wall mounting. The recommended retail price is 249 euros.

RingConn Gen 2 und Gen 3 im Test: Wie gut sind die smarten Gesundheitsringe?

RingConn Gen 2 and Gen 3 smart rings in a side-by-side test, both without a compulsory subscription. The Gen 2 is 2.0 mm thick and weighs 2 to 3 grams, whilst the Gen 3 is 2.3 mm thick and weighs 2.5 to 3.5 grams. The Gen 3 also features a vibration motor and blood pressure tracking. Battery life is 10 to 12 days for the Gen 2 and 11 to 14 days (without vibration) for the Gen 3. Points of criticism include the lack of a display, the limited workout features, the absence of medical-grade blood pressure measurement, and the fact that the app only supports one active ring at a time.

Elegoo Centauri 2 (Combo) 3D-Drucker im Test

Test of the Elegoo Centauri 2, an open-frame FDM printer that shares most of its technology with the enclosed Centauri Carbon but skips the closed chamber. Despite the lower 299 euro price, mechanics and auto-calibration show no obvious cutbacks, and the first prints come out right without fine-tuning. Without sound insulation the fans are noticeably louder, and the printer is a poor fit for technical filaments like ABS or ASA.

A small display shows charging status and system information, and at around 200 euros it targets users who want to power their desk and notebook through a single cable.

  5. PB

The article puts insider rumors about future rules for balcony solar systems into context, according to which the planned Solarpaket I reform would raise the permitted feed in power from 600 to 800 watts, while the VDE standard 0126-95 mathematically allows a peak output of around 960 watts. It also flags open legal questions, such as possible insurance problems for systems above 960 watts and landlords' continuing veto rights, and advises against panic since no final decision has been made yet.

The Anker Solix BP1000 is an expansion battery weighing around 9 kilograms with 1,056 Wh of LiFePO4 capacity, connected to the C1000 power station via a fixed cable and a safety latch, doubling its total capacity to 2,112 Wh. The test praises the modular, transport friendly design but criticizes the rigid cable connection, the lack of anti slip grip when stacking, and the absence of its own USB ports on the add on battery.

  7. SB

Since no official charger exists for the Anker Solix E1600, the article presents a DIY solution using a common e-scooter power supply that delivers around 84 watts at 42 volts and 2.5 amps, connected to the E1600 via a 5.5x2.5mm barrel plug and a polarity reverser. Total cost comes to about 47 euros, and the author explicitly warns against running the charger alongside solar panels and to only supervise the first 8 to 12 hour charge.

  8. 3D

The post presents practical 3D print files and small accessories that owners can print themselves on the AnkerMake M5 or M5c, such as holders or organizational aids for everyday printing.

  9. SB

The Anker Solix C1000 is Anker's first expandable power station, with 1,056 Wh of capacity (extendable to 2,112 Wh with an add on battery), a pure sine wave output of 1,800 watts (up to 2,400 watts briefly), and four Schuko outlets plus USB-A, USB-C and a 12V output. Weighing around 12.5 kilograms, it fully charges from the mains in about an hour, supports solar charging with up to 600 watts of input, and can be controlled via app. The test rates its charging speed, versatility and app integration positively but criticizes the loud fan, concluding it suits camping and weekend trips rather than continuous power supply.

  10. SC

The soundcore Motion X500 is a Bluetooth speaker priced around 169 US dollars, featuring two spatial sound modes (Spatial Signature and Spatial Dynamic), Bluetooth 5.3 including Sony's low loss LDAC codec, and IPX7 water resistance in a well built aluminum housing. The manufacturer states 12 hours of battery life, but the test only achieved around 8 hours under realistic conditions. The otherwise good sounding, solidly built speaker is let down by its disappointing runtime and the lack of equalizer presets.

  11. SB

The Anker Solix E1600 is a portable power storage unit with 1,600 Wh of gross capacity that buffers surplus solar power from balcony solar systems and regulates household feed in from 100 to 800 watts in 10 watt steps, controlled via a WiFi app. After an update to app version 1.8.2, control works considerably more reliably according to the preliminary verdict, making it a solid simple storage solution for less technically minded users. Remaining criticisms include early control issues, overly optimistic advertised inverter compatibility, confusing app terminology, and reduced performance in cold weather.

  12. BK

Anker launches the SOLIX RS50B, larger balcony solar panels that deliver 1,080 watts as a pair and use half-cut cell technology to reduce yield loss from partial shading. The panel set costs 849 euros, or 1,748 euros bundled with the E1600 Solarbank.

  13. BK

The article covers three add-on safety measures for balcony solar systems. MC4 fuses against short circuits, a residual current device installed between the inverter and the socket, and dedicated DC disconnect switches that can shut down the system even in sunlight. For anything beyond that, the author recommends calling in an electrician.

  14. 3D

The post rounds up free online tools that generate printable STL files without any CAD skills, covering QR codes, lithophanes, keychains and name tags. In classroom use with the AnkerMake M5C, the Nametag Designer proved the most popular, since it also lets users customize the base plate.

  15. BK

The guide explains how to build a DIY voltage regulator for cases where a solar panel's open-circuit voltage exceeds what an inverter or storage device can accept. Needed parts include a regulator rated up to 20 amps, a digital voltmeter, and MC4 and XT60 connectors, with wiring done simply by connecting the inputs in parallel. The author stresses that basic electrical knowledge is required and that the components inevitably generate heat.

  16. 3D

The AnkerMake M5 all-metal hotend is now available for pre-order in Germany, priced at 39.99 euros regularly, or 9.99 euros plus 5 euros shipping for existing customers with a discount code. Unlike the previous PTFE hotend, it allows print temperatures up to 300 instead of 260 degrees Celsius, opening the door to materials like PC, PEEK and metal composites.

  17. SB

The article documents the rocky launch of the Anker Solix E1600 Solarbank, whose software initially reacted erratically to configured energy schedules, storing or releasing power in a seemingly arbitrary way. With only a single MPPT and charging power that drops from over 300 watts to just 165 watts below 13 degrees Celsius, the promised increase in self-consumption from 40 to 90 percent has yet to materialize.

  18. SB

Testing the Anker Solix Solarbank reveals its main weakness. It has only one MPPT tracker instead of two, so both solar panels are treated electronically as a single unit. This causes noticeable yield losses under partial shading or when panels face different directions, though the drawback is smaller with parallel wiring than with a series connection. Overall, the author still credits the Solarbank with good value for money and easy installation.

  19. SB

In their first impressions of the Anker Solix E1600 Solarbank (1,600 Wh capacity, 11 to 60 volt input, up to 800 watts output), the authors report unexplained behavior in the energy management, such as the unit drawing only 65 watts even though 100 watts of demand was configured. Once fully charged, the device switches into a bypass mode and routes solar power directly to the inverter, though scheduling by individual weekday isn't possible.

  20. SB

The test describes connecting the Anker Solix E1600 Solarbank via MC4 plugs as largely foolproof, and setting up the app as straightforward, from creating an account through automatic device detection to WiFi and firmware updates. The energy plan allows up to six appliances with individual wattage values, though default settings have to be adjusted per schedule rather than centrally.

  21. PB

The article explains why an RCD is useless on a power station. Since both poles are floating with no ground reference, there is no fault current to earth for the RCD to detect. Power strips are considered dangerous because a ground fault in one connected device can transfer voltage through the shared protective earth conductor to other, otherwise intact devices.

  22. 3D

Anker announces the AnkerMake M5C, a 3D printer matching the M5's quality at an introductory price of 399 euros, half of what the current model costs. Details remain scarce, but the stripped-down model likely lacks features like the camera and touchscreen.

  23. PB

This test looks at the Anker 548 power bank (PowerCore Reserve, 192 Wh), which combines a LiFePO4 battery, solar input via XT60 and two 60 watt USB-C ports to sit between a regular power bank and a compact power station. In practice the measured capacity comes close to the rated figure, though total output power stays limited.

  24. SB

The piece covers the safety issue with Anker's Solix MI60 inverter, which lacks an additional grid-protection relay required under German rules. Anker offers affected customers a free swap for the MI80, which can also feed in up to 800 instead of 600 watts, though owners have to request the exchange themselves.

  25. BK

The guide gives five tips for safely extending solar cables on balcony power plants, such as avoiding home-made cable jobs, using UV-resistant insulation, choosing enough cross-section (at least 6 mm² for an 800 watt system) and staying under 20 meters total length. The background is that the supplied 5-meter cables often aren't long enough to reach a frost-protected spot for a storage unit.

  26. GD

The guide walks through connecting eufy cameras to a Synology NAS via RTSP. Each camera is set up for NAS storage with basic authentication in the eufy app, then added manually in Synology's Surveillance Station using the matching RTSP path. The eufy Homebase needs a fixed IP address for this to work reliably, and recordings end up in a separate folder per camera on the NAS.

  27. SB

The article introduces the Anker SOLIX Solarbank E1600, a storage unit for balcony power plants with 1.6 kWh capacity (expandable to 3.2 kWh) that stores solar power generated during the day and feeds it back into the home grid at an adjustable output of up to 800 watts, in 50 watt steps. According to the piece, this lets users draw on solar power when they actually need it, without a costly installation.

  28. PS

The stress test puts the Anker Powerhouse 757, a 20 kilogram power station rated at 1,229 Wh and 1,500 watts continuous output, through its paces with household appliances at full load. Grid frequency stayed stable and the fan only ran when needed, but only around 735 Wh of usable capacity showed up in practice because of losses under high current draw. The author scores it 8.6 out of 10, recommends it mainly for campers, and notes that solar panel detection doesn't always work automatically.

  29. 3D

The piece looks at whether and when color 3D printing will become possible on AnkerMake printers, weighing up where Anker's promised multi-color solution stood at the time. The exact details can't be confirmed without access to the original text.

  30. BK

The test covers the Anker 625, a 100 watt solar panel weighing just 5 kilograms that sets up in about three minutes. Under direct winter sun it delivered almost its full rated output, but a single cloud or partial shading dropped performance sharply, which the review flags as a clear weak point at a price of 369 euros.

  31. BK

The test measures how much power the AnkerSolix RS40P (a balcony power plant panel rated at 440 watts) actually delivers. Full sun produced around 397 watts, about 96 percent of the theoretical maximum, and even under cloudy skies the panels still put out roughly 86 watts. The author compares this to 20 year old panels with only about 21 percent efficiency and comes away convinced by the current numbers.

  32. 3D

The guide lists 16 practical tools for a 3D printing workspace, including side cutters and a deburring tool for post-processing, a digital caliper, tweezers for removing support structures, and vacuum bags plus a filament dryer to keep material dry. The author stresses that good post-processing matters just as much as the print itself.

  33. BK

The guide explains what a reverse current blocker is and why it makes sense when wiring several solar panels in parallel. A diode stops current from flowing back and forth between panels of different output or a faulty one, which would otherwise waste power or damage a panel. One diode per panel is usually enough, and many modern devices already build this protection in.

  34. 3D

The article introduces the six filament types most commonly used in FDM 3D printing and compares them by properties such as strength, ease of printing and typical use case. It is aimed at beginners trying to pick the right material for their print.

  35. 3D

The first part of the AnkerMake M5 test covers unboxing and assembly of the 3D printer. The Z-axis, motors, display and extruder arrive pre-mounted, so the remaining setup takes about 30 minutes according to the author. Build quality and the included tools make a good first impression, though one step, the USB connector retaining screws, was initially missed.

  36. BK

The article explains why partial shading of individual solar cells can drag down the output of an entire string, since the current still has to pass through the shaded cell. Bypass diodes act like a one way street, routing current around shaded sections. Higher quality panels use noticeably more of these diodes than cheap ones and keep producing usable output even under cloudy skies.

  37. BK

The article introduces the common connector types used in photovoltaic systems and balcony solar setups and explains what to watch for when wiring panels, inverter and home grid together.

  38. BK

The guide covers the three common ways to connect a balcony solar system, a standard household plug, a Wieland plug and a fixed installation done by an electrician. It explains why a certified inverter meeting VDE AR-N-4105 is required, since it has to sync frequency and voltage with the home grid and shut down automatically if the grid fails, and it warns about the shock risk from improper installation.

  39. BK

The article explains which electricity meter makes sense for a balcony solar setup. It recommends a bidirectional meter that records generation and consumption separately. Meters marked "always positive" are a problem, since they bill fed-in solar power as consumption, which is why the author advises checking with the grid operator before switching the system on.

  40. GD

The article explains what an uninterruptible power supply (UPS) is and how it briefly keeps devices running from stored battery energy during a power cut. It distinguishes three types, passive standby, interactive online and double conversion, the last running at around 85 percent efficiency, mainly protecting hardware like computers from data loss and damage caused by sudden outages.

  41. BK

The article compares series and parallel wiring of multiple solar panels. In series, voltages add up, in parallel, currents add up. According to the article, the key rule is that the combined open circuit voltage of all panels must never exceed the power station's maximum input voltage, and mixing different panel types in one setup should be avoided.

  42. BK

The article debunks the myth that balcony solar systems attract lightning, since a strike takes the shortest path to ground regardless of electrical devices. Lightning protection is not mandatory for private homes according to the author, as modern house wiring usually offers adequate surge protection, while it remains a requirement for public buildings and must be installed only by qualified professionals.

  43. BT

The article explains why LiFePO4 batteries are seen as a safer and longer lasting choice compared to other lithium chemistries, for example in power stations and balcony solar storage.

  44. BK

The article looks at the question, being discussed in Germany at the time, of whether the 600 watt feed-in limit for balcony solar systems would soon be raised, and sums up where that discussion stood.

  45. BK

The author describes trying to run two donated solar panels, each with 31 volts open circuit voltage, on a power station that only accepts up to 28 volts input and immediately shut down as a result. The fix was a step down module set to 24 volts, fitted with MC4 connectors and an 8 amp fuse inside a waterproof box, accepting a small power loss from the module in return.
